GIP!

I watched The Life Before This, with my boys CKR and David Hewlett. Thoughts )

Off to read my romance novel (The new one by Julia Quinn! She's my favorite romance novelist of all time! Wow, I'm really lame!), wait for [info]moonblade85 to get here, and maybe watch Callum's Battlestar Gallactica ep, which I taped. Go me.

I just realized that I never thanked you, [info]raveninthewind for the Twitch City DVDs. Sorry! I suck! They came a while ago, and I'm enjoying them muchly. :) I'll send them back soon.

Also, on that note, today a package came for me in the mail from some strange Ohio return address. I opened it to find Paul Gross' scruffy face staring back at me. Turns out, it's Buried on Sunday, a movie that looks to be as sublimely ridiculous as it is Canadian. Yay! Wheee!

However, I was very confused, because I wasn't expecting anything from anyone. It had to be from an online source, as none of my RL friends live in OH, to begin with, and I doubt any of them would send me a Canadian movie. Still, I don't know anyone online who's from Ohio either. Is my memory shot to hell? I thought. Did I get drunk and go on Ebay and forget about it? If not, who sent it? Hey, maybe I have a Random Canadian Movie Fairy. How cool would that be?

Then, after looking at the package a little more closely, I realized the package wasn't mailed from Ohio, but from where [info]raveninthewind lives. Dur. So thank you again, hun! (You did send it, right?)

Okay, I tottled off the post office today to mail [info]wordweaver06 my copy of Wilby Wonderful, which I had agreed to do despite my deep abiding suspicions of what could possibly happen to it, mostly due the sketchiness of the U.S. Postal Service.

Anyway, I went to check my mailbox, and what had arrived but Falling Angels and Last Night from [info]raveninthewind, who is soooooo my new favorite person. (Thank you! Thank you! Eeee! I am going to have a CKR fest as soon as I can clear some time. Eeee again!)

Anyway, Wilby Wonderful left, Falling Angels and Last Night arrived. How nice. I could write something on giving and receiving, and the apparent web of CKR-love that embraces us all, but I won't. :)

I watched the debate tonight, interestngly enough, in a room with 11 people, split about half and half Democrats and Republicans, which was kind of cool. And you know, besides the natural frustration with Bush, the overall feeling I had coming away from it was hope. Because despite everything, and the way things are leaning, I don't think it's over yet by a long shot. I don't know why but I do believe that somehow it will all work out and Kerry will win. The strength of this conviction rather surprises me.

Besides that, today was vaguely crappy in a way that I can't quite put my finger on. It's left a sour feeling lingering in my stomach.

But, to end on a happier note, guess what I found? From an old Entertainment Weekly article, Paul Gross on playing Fraser: "'I don't think there's anyone even remotely like (Fraser) in Canada,' says the actor from the show's Toronto set. 'I used to be a really mean, cynical misanthrope, and I was a criminal,' he deadpans. 'But now that I'm playing this part, I love everybody.'"

Oh how I love Paul Gross.
