1. Because I was jonesin' for some vegan lemon poppyseed cookies from the Alternative Baking Company last night, I walked to Whole Foods. They were just as awesome as expected. I'm not vegan anymore, but these are the bomb. The first bite tastes like lemon tea and then it just gets better and better. anevivi can totally back me up on this, we got these like three times the last time she was up here.

2. I also got fruit at Whole Foods, which means blueberries, strawberries and kiwi for breakfast today! I love fruit. All fruit. FRUIT. If it were possible to live on fruit, wine and coffee without dying of malnutrition, high blood pressure and alcohol poisoning, I'd be there in a heartbeat.

3. And speaking of coffee, the cup I made myself this morning + soy creamer was the best I've had in a while. Mmm.

4. Also, I'm going over to rageprufrock's to watch SPN tonight and she's making dinner. This will of course be awesome. Also, there will be TGIFriday's dip from a box, which I think we can all agree is awes as well.

5. Not food related, haha- I'm wearing this skirt today, which always makes me want to twirl down the hallway in my office like a pretty ballerina princess. (I might have done this once while no one was looking. Maybe.)

1. Gossip Girl was back last night! IMO the best part of Gossip Girl is reading Richard Lawson's recaps on Tuesday mornings. Richard riffs on this crazy/bad show with such daffy, snarky, brilliant hate and glee that whereas I used to read his recaps because I watched Gossip Girl, I now watch Gossip Girl so I can read his recaps.

Anyway, he used to be on Gawker, but he doesn't work there anymore, so I had to go put on my best girl detective hat and find him over on tv.com. His recap for last night is HERE and you should go read it if you watch. It certainly gave me the best choking-in-my-cubicle-so-I-don't-disturb-the-neighbors laugh I've had all week.

2. Thanks to work perks, I get to go to a talk next week with some of the editors from Entertainment Weekly about Fall TV. Yesssss.

3. Also, in the 'you'd think this would be a work perk but no, I do this in my free time' column, thanks to my faithful stalking of EW magazine, I also get to go to an advance screening of Flashforward with leupagus next Tuesday. John Cho! Dominic Monaghan! Some sort of time travel premise maybe I don't know don't really care!

It's possible I erred on the side of vague in terms of the quotes themselves, but I can't tell. I like to assume that everyone has of course seen these as many times as I have.

*In college, I used to be a fairly ridiculous person. I don't mean in the frat-girl, dancing-on-the-table, streaking-the-quad kind of way (OK FINE ONLY SOMETIMES), but more that I used to be way more of a spazz. A procrastinating, all-over-the-place, sometimes-a-flake of a girl. Consequently, I spent most of my time in college when I was not in class fighting the urge to walk to the sunken gardens and do a massive, full body, HOLY SHIT WHY IS MY LIFE SO AWKWARD faceplant into the grass.

I'm not saying this is a great way to live, and I do enjoy being mostly (ha) on top of my shit and on time/early to work every day, etc. Still, there is a part of me that wishes I could go back (metaphorically) to that time in my life where my mom walked into a room with me and my friends and said, I found this vibrator when I was cleaning the basement, where do you want me to put it? (TRUE STORY, KIDS.)

That's weird, right?

Anyway, the point of this story is actually not my post-adolescent angst, it's about vibrators. (Surprise!)

As in bizarrely wandering back down memory lane and reading stuff like Professionals fic and Ray/Ray Due South stuff and sad McShep stories that remind me why John Sheppard can break my heart into tiny pieces like no one else. I think it has to do with Merlin being on hiatus and SGA being over and maybe I’m a wee bit adrift? I dunno. :(

I've never been to Canada but I've seen it on TV!! This is my non-Ray/Ray due South icon, from one of the better episodes of the series, Asylum. I like it because it's an incredibly funny moment, and also expresses my inexplicable love for the country of Canada despite never having been there and only liking it because of the Mounties.


Rodney does the I Dream of Jeannie thing, and is awesome. I've kept this icon around for a while because I needed a Rodney icon for commenting, and I have a bit of a pouting, crazy-hands, Drama Queen inner monologue myself.


Stole this picture from moonblade85's friend, who hosted a Craptastic movie festival and found this...somewhere. I love Roy Lichtenstein type art, and this just tickled me. And my love of the craptastic is great indeed, and explains while, for example, I'm listening to the HSM2 soundtrack as I type this. So. Vagina Monologues is over. This is sad, but I'm really glad I decided to do it. Not in the least because of everyone who came to see me. Thanks for that. Also, I hadn't been in a show in over a year, and I hadn't actually had a real character to play (with real lines) as opposed to a chorus part in a really long time. It was a pleasure. To stretch my acting muscles, as it were. I'm really proud of how it turned out. *g*

Other than that, crazy-busy, heading toward burn out. Can't wait for break.

In actually life news, today's my last day of work. Yay! But I'm probably going to miss it. And I get to go to NYC tomorrow. Yeah, baby!

Not much to say. Had a rather nice conversation with Petra and Meg last night in our field. Or rather, on the tennis court next to our field as field was dewy.

We told each other some stuff that bothered us about everyone else, and it didn't disintegrate into a bitch fest. Always a good thing. It was a good talk. Until my mom called Petra's cell phone, tipsy, and began freaking out at me because one of her coworker's sons (and three of his friends) was arrested for assault and counterfeiting.

Apparently she saw them on the news and overreacted, being kind of drunk and all. Had to talk her through that one- she was like "Can you imagine how awful it would be for a parent to have their child arrested like that?". I told her that was rather unlikely, and Meg and I would never do anything like that.

And just as I finished and hung up, a man came walking around the side of the tennis court holding something. We couldn't see him that well and it was really freaky. It could have been a psycho with a gun for all we knew.

Then he turns on his flash light in our eyes and says, "What are you doing here?"

Rather unlikely, indeed.

It was a cop. And the three of us are in a park, after dark, which is illegal. We lied to him and said we didn't realize that.

Still, a cop with a flashlight is better than a psycho with a gun. He asks for our information (name, SSN, address, phone number) so we give it to him. This is apparently in case anyone reports vandalism or something in the park the next day. He was nice. He let us go and left. On foot, which was kind of weird.

Unfortunately, Petra and I are no closer to our goal of getting arrested before we die. :)
